Massage Awareness Project
I am starting a new Massage Awareness Project to help create projects that massage therapists can be doing to create more awareness in their local area about massage. The more people doing the same thing, hopefully the more awareness that can be created. I started thinking about this awhile ago and saw that both major massage associations have a massage awareness day. I just thought it was interesting that neither had a concrete plan to create awareness. Massage Insurance Billing – How to bill insurance for massage services
Massage Insurance Billing has been one of my – I guess you would say pet peeves. I have been billing insurance companies from the very beginning of my career in 1989 and have found the work to be both a blessing and a curse. I started billing for car accidents (now called motor vehicle collisions because the insurance companies want to make sure someone pays) and in about 2000, I was able to become a contracted provider with major medical companies like Blue Shield and Aetna to name a few. How to get massage clients to rebook
Getting Massage Clients to rebook or come in again is the easiest way to build a massage business. Why is rebooking important? Getting regular clients will create a client base for you to work off of and give you some level of security in your massage business. You will use less resources trying to get all new clients in the door in addition to having regular income. The majority of my clients have come in weekly for over 20 years. For some reason money seems to be a big issue for many massage therapists. Many come to the profession because they want to “help’ others. Creating and using email newsletters is one of the many essentials of marketing for building a massage business. A New Year, A New Plan
I learned long ago not to start the New Year out with a list of resolutions or wishes that I wanted for the year. Lose weight, make more money, get out of debt, go to the Caribbean, exercise every day, eat better, save money…. you name it. I probably had it in my resolution list. The blessing and curse of billing for massage services
Billing insurance companies for massage services has always been one of my mixed blessings throughout my career in massage. Right from the beginning of my career in 1989 with my little 250 hours of massage training, I have been able to bill auto insurance companies for car accidents and other insurance companies for slip and fall accidents. I didn’t need any extra training except for having to learn how to submit the bills and get paid. Through hit or miss and help from my friends, I learned the ropes. Using article marketing for your massage business website can help you to get better search engine rankings and to get more traffic to your website. Article marketing is the process of writing short articles and posting them on the many free article directories that are out there. The goal in writing articles like this is mainly to get backlinks to your website to increase your rankings. Massage therapists beware- email scams
Massage Therapists are now reporting many email scams. The general scheme is that the person wants to get massage for themselves or a friend who are traveling or will be traveling. They sound very real and convincing so it is important to know what kinds of things are out there. I seem to be getting one once a week or even more and will start posting some of them here.
