One of the most effective methods of promoting your massage business is by having a website. I call it the ‘no selling’ method of promoting yourself. A websites main goal is to educate potential clients and clients about what you do and what massage can do for them. People are out there searching for ‘massage, your city’. They are already looking for massage. These are the main clients that you want to have and the easiest to convert into actual clients.
Your website needs to be in the top results spot on all of the search engines and it must also get people to click on your site. The information that shows up in the few sentences on the search engine results often comes from either the actual content of your page or from the metatags on your site. Metatags are special pieces of code that are not seen by visitors but are often used by search engines to see what is on your site. They have to be done in a specific way to get the right attention.
After your website gets the click from the person searching for ‘massage, your city’ your website needs to address the question that the searcher has. People search for solutions to a problem that they are having – pain, stress, and injury or condition. They want to know that you will be able to handle and work with whatever it is that they have. A content rich website will include information on these exact things. You don’t have to be a writer – you just have to be able to write down the things that you would say to a client or potential client. An effective website will have about 30 pages of info at minimum. The more the better you look as an expert in the field. You won’t have to think up any cute sayings or slogans or do any sales. Your website will do it all for you if you take the time to provide information.
Some other things that an effective website does is to make you additional income while you sleep or do massage. You can sell affiliate products through your website. Affiliate programs are programs that companies have that let you get paid when you sell their products for them. You can find affiliate programs for many things. I use www.amazon.com for starters and refer people to buy some massage tools, Biofreeze and other massage related products. This is helpful because you will also be getting many other visitors to your website who are not local and won’t be getting a massage from you.
So having all of these things in place on your website can help you get the clients that you need so that you can just focus on what you do best – doing massage!
